The land of Normal. What a funny place. As an Autistic I have never been seen as being normal.
Neurodiversity – in short- the collective differences in the species of humans brains
I am Neurodivergent- my brain does not process information like the majority of the people in the world.
The land of Autism
Some of us were born there, some of us proudly live there, some of us want to escape from there
Why is this important to understand? I’m sure by now it has become quite obvious that your child is different than other children or your friend or you someone you know
the cool truth here is – everyone is different
and there are a lot of people who are not considered to be normal who are not on the Autism Spectrum
For the sake of advocacy for those on the spectrum the first thing to understand
(maybe incorrect for some, or maybe correct for others)
We all want to appear normal
and we want our families and friends to appear normal.
But normal is defined in its own subcategories.
Normal Personality
Normal Mental Health
Normal Behavior
Social Normals
Normal Medically
Things I have considered
Who do I think I am versus my identity versus what I believe I should be.
- When people do not conform to the normal standard, they are often labelled as sick, disabled, abnormal, or unusual, which can lead to marginalization or stigmatization. Most people want to be normal and strive to be perceived as such, so that they can relate to society at large. Without having things in common with the general population, people may feel isolated among society.
So I purpose this idea
Could it be possible that processing the world differently than the way the majority of people process the world is not such a great tragedy with a bleak outcome but rather an opportunity that is extraordinary and rare.
